In 2020, Kolin Jones & Calvin Yoon founded Amalfi Jets in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic in order to provide a more personalized flying private experience. Being a pilot himself and attending Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, Kolin Jones led the development of the aviation experience within the firm. Studying economics and having experience trading securities, Calvin Yoon led the development of the companies’ proprietary jet card model. Amalfi Jets is currently one of the leading private jet charter providers, trusted by Fortune 500 companies and various UHNWIs alike.

Philanthropy remained top of mind for both Kolin & Calvin throughout the growth of Amalfi Jets. Kolin was an Eagle Scout and Cadet Airman First Class in the Civil Air Patrol, focusing on various community engagement and development initiatives through his upbringing. Calvin worked as a Spanish translator in Tijuana & built a playground for a primary school in Ghana. In 2022, Amalfi Jets began raising money for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and within a fiscal year raised over $150,000 USD for various blood cancer research.

The two decided to take their impact a step further and established in the Amalfi Foundation in October of 2022 in order to elevate underserved individuals and begin working to tackle the underlying problems of these communities. Amalfi Jets funded the Amalfi Foundation (AF) with an initial gift to cover all operating expenses until December 2023.

AF was eager to hit the ground running and within 3-months, made their first commitment to the Just Keep Livin Foundation, established by Matthew & Camilla McConaughey to empower high school students at Title 1 schools. Inspired by the direct impact of JKL, AF established an entrepreneurial focused program for local high school students in Southern California, the High School Student Leadership Accelerator Program (SLA).

Through this program, high school students engage in a rigorous 5-module curriculum that covers various aspects of personal development, business skills, and personal leadership. Students then build a team of 8-12 peers, similar to employees at a company, and lead their team in a fundraising competition in order to gain hands-on practice from their module curriculum. Students practice leadership skills and business negotiation tactics, engaging with local business leaders and well recognized CEOs.
